Climate laboratory at school
The Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest, faces increasing climate vulnerability due to frequent cyclones and environmental degradation. These natural disasters not only threaten livelihoods but also lead to long-term soil infertility, forcing communities to migrate. Similarly Purulia, Kochi, Gurugram Pune, and Bangalore - all these places are facing different threats due to climate change. Recognizing the urgent need for climate education and resilience, we aim to establish climate laboratories in schools to empower students with knowledge and tools to monitor and adapt to their changing environment.
Know MoreMainstreaming Climate Education
The urgency of climate change necessitates effective education and awareness to empower communities. Recognizing the lack of accessible information in Bengali, we launched Sobuj Prithibi in 2019, the first communication platform focused on climate change in the Bengali language. Our aim is to bridge the knowledge gap by translating scientific reports, creating educational materials, and fostering a connection between farmers and scientists. Through various initiatives, we address the pressing need for climate-resilient livelihoods and community engagement, ultimately aiming to enhance public understanding of climate issues.
